The last hope to get that engine to fire off is the spark plug, bad plugs or plug gaps are a detriment, espcially under the stress of high cylinder pressures.
These NGK spark plugs are the same ones we run on our JZ engines from 200 HP to 1200 HP. It doesn't take an expesive plug, it takes a good one!
One heat range colder then stock rating, these will handle higher heat when pushed harder but still give good starting and driving results.
If you're beating on your enigne hard or are just tuning it up, these plugs are affordable enough to replace periodically to keep them in top condition for peak performance. If you rev 8000 RPM, you're spark plug fires 4000 times a minute, that 67 times per second. If you consider what a weekend of competition looks like, that's a lot of abuse on those electrodes.
