Installation Instructions1. Your new motor mount brackets do not use any rubber mounts or isolators. If the stock mounts were left in the car, they will need to be removed. Your new mounts also replace the stock cast aluminum pieces on the VH block, these will also need to be removed also. 2. The new steel mounts have a down ward formed profile to allow maximum clearance for exhaust. The lower edge of the new steel mount may contact the engine block on the bottom corner. This may require some clearance to be ground on the block. Test fit your mounts to assure the 4 bolting pads sit flat without contacting the block. The mounts should angle to the rear of the block when installed with the supplied 10mm bolts. Do NOT over torque the mount bolts, the block is aluminum and the threads can be stripped out if pulled to tightly. The use of a mild thread locker is ok, such as Lock tite Blue. Never use an aggressive thread locker such as Lock tite Red in aluminum. 3. The VH install into the S chassis requires a fair amount of preliminary work to accommodate the size of the VH. The following items will need to be removed, relocated and possibly modified for reinstallation. Wiring and trans support bracket from passenger side of VH oil pan/block, the trans support bracket can be modified to clear the S chassis and reinstalled once the engine is in place. Hoses/wiring from driver side frame rail on car where the VH power steering will now be. Stock 240 power steering reservoir. Battery tray, brake booster and ABS Modulation unit. 4. The brake booster we test fit with was an S13 ABS booster, the booster can re installed after the engine is in place. Other boosters may fit, be sure to check clearance to the valve cover for both the booster and brake lines. 5. You will need to lower the sway bar off the chassis mounts to install the VH, the front of the oil pan may require modification to clear the sway bar. 6. The power steering line on the pump that faces to outside of the engine can be loosened and turned rearward to allow clearance to the frame rail. 7. You will need to check the brake lines that run behind the head on the passenger side that there is adequate clearance. You may need to dent the firewall or relocate the brake lines to gain adequate clearance. 8. With the engine in place you can install the transmission mount. The end with the long slots goes on the driver side. 9. We recommend installing you Xcessive shifter bracket at this time. 10. You can now install the driveline.
