Nissan VG Shifter Bracket Kit

Your kit should include:

• 1 Xcessive designed VG shifter bracket
• 1 Xcessive designed shifter connecting rod
• 1 – 6mm x 50 Plated con-rod bolt
• 1 – 6mm Plated flange nut
• 1 – 8mm x 50 shifter bolt
• 5 – 8mm Plated nylock nuts
• 4 – 8mm x 30 Plated shifter bracket bolts
• 1 Nylon shifter bushing

Installation Instructions

1. Remove the stock VG shifter connecting rod. Be sure to leave the universal joint on the yolk coming out of the transmission. Be careful with the small caps on the universal joint from the connecting rod. They contain small needle bearings. You don’t want to loose them.
2. Install the new Xcessive shifter connecting rod on the VG stock universal joint using the supplied 6mm bolt and nut, do not tighten the cross bolt at this time.
3. Install the shifter bracket with the 4 supplied 8mm bolts and lock nuts. Snug the nuts, do not tighten at this time.
4. Test fit your shifter to the assembly. Use the Nylon sleeve bushing on the shifter bolt if you are using an after market shifter that came with an oversized hole. If using a stock VG shifter, you will need to remove the stud from the shifter flange, not the new Xcessive bracket. You can shift the new shifter bracket a small amount if adjustment is desired. Check the new bracket and connecting rod for clearance in all gears. Tighten the 4 bracket bolts when adjustments and tests are completed.
5. We recommend removal of the shifter to install the transmission now that the brackets are tested and set.

Advantages to the Xcessive VG shifter bracket

1. Moves the shifter forward 2 3/8" so it fits the console better and has better placement in the car for driving.
2. Heavy steel construction bolts directly to the transmission. No stock VG body mounted support bracket.
3. Accepts stock and after market shifters.
